Sharon Fernandez

Sharon brings extensive experience in clinical service design and redesign, underpinned by 42 years as a practising Registered Nurse. This clinical grounding gives her a strategic and operational overview of nursing across the Hurley Group. 

Since the inception of the Primary Care Gambling Service, Sharon has built strong collaborative relationships with the third sector played a key role in the development of regional boards. These boards are focused on designing and delivering a safe, effective, whole-system approach to supporting those experiencing gambling harm. 

Sharon recognises that robust governance is essential to safe, high-quality care providing the framework of accountability, oversight, and assurance needed to protect patients and support consistent standards across services. This principle underpins her and the team's approach throughout. 

Sharon's combined experience in nursing, strategy, operations, and system design has embedded clinical governance, multidisciplinary collaboration, and third-sector partnership at the heart of service delivery ensuring that strategic vision translates into consistent, effective delivery with patients at the centre of this.
